Since 2017 the Gnarwhal has pushed the limits of what we thought possible in packrafting. Thanks to its Rally Hull shape, its ergonomic seat and its thigh blocks with 4 attachment points, the Gnarwhal is the most stable and forgiving whitewater packraft. It is an ideal boat to familiarize yourself with river practice, improve your skills, load a lot of equipment or take on large-volume rivers.

Powerful or playful, addictive or intimidating, attractive or terrifying, clear or chaotic, rivers are sometimes full of contradictions. At any time, you can count on the Gnarwhal, it will be there to guide you down the river with a smile and without looking back!

Experienced paddlers will perform best by attacking from the start and paddling hard, making the Gnarwhal ideal for high-volume rivers and technical passages that require speed, strength and flexibility. stability to arrive safely. Beginners and less experienced users will appreciate the stability and forgiveness of the Gnarwhal which make this boat particularly fun. This way, they will be able to focus on their techniques without being afraid of turning around if they make mistakes.

The Gnarwhal is designed with a Rally hull shape, special high-performance whitewater equipment, the Cargo fly zip and is available with a pontoon or self-bailing floor. Alpacka's Rally Hull shape is the ultimate design for whitewater performance. The Rally Hull floor extends on the rear part to increase stability and rocker on the front part in order to pass over the holes and enter the counters.

The Gnarwhal has more volume than the Wolverine to increase stability, forgiveness and loading capacity. The Gnarwhal is sold with an adjustable semi-rigid foam backrest, a self-draining floor which takes up ¾ of the boat, a cushion which allows you to prop your feet against the front of the boat and thigh blocks with 4 attachment points ( deposited model)

Are you hesitating between the large volume of the Gnarwhal and the smaller volume of the Wolverine?

You'll love the Gnarwhal if you're looking for a boat that is forgiving of mistakes, easy to paddle, and makes whitewater a little less intimidating. It's also a great choice if you want to go all out on high-volume rivers with lots of obstacles or if you need to carry a lot of gear on a long crossing.

You'll love the Wolverine if you like to get technical. This packraft is aimed at those who engage and try to get into all the obstacles and take advantage of each jump.

Both the Wolverine and the Gnarwhal can be lifted using the thigh braces, however the Wolverine is easier for the majority of users. The dimensions of the Gnarwhal and Wolverine will fit the majority of normal-sized adults. However, people over 182cm and 100kgs will be more comfortable in the Gnarwhal.
